CO-DIRECTOR, WRITER
photoLindy Heymann graduated from Central/St Martins after completing a degree in Fine Art / Film.

Upon leaving she was asked to direct her first documentary for British Television, “3 Hours in High Heels is Heaven” an intimate film that delves into the suburban worlds of four ordinary suburban transvestite men.

Simultaneously she made her debut as a music video director for the then unknown British band, Suede. The video was a huge success, not only launching Suede’s career but Lindy’s as one of the youngest and most prolific video directors.

She was given A Creative Futures Award for most promising newcomer and since then, Lindy has directed over 100 clips and worked with artists as diverse and eclectic as John Lydon, David Gray, Dido, The Charlatans, Leftfield, Terry Hall, Faithless, Sinaed O’Conner, The Auteurs, Mark E. Smith, The Lightning Seeds Mark Owen & Paul McCartney.

Recently she directed Suede’s last video starring the veteran British actor John Hurt (“Alien”, “The Elephant Man” & “The Naked Civil Servant”). An instant cult success, the video was screened in cinemas in London.

Prior to co-directing Showboy, Lindy has also made several short films and documentaries. These include:- “The Innocents” featuring Maxi Jazz and using the music of Faithless. “The Real Fawlty Towers”, a documentary about a bohemian version of ‘Basil & Sybil’ who run a ramshackle hotel in the country. “Kissing Buba” starring Miriam Karlin (“Clockwork Orange”, “The Rag Trade”). “The White Coated Man” commissioned by Paul McCartney as a tribute to his late wife, Linda who co-wrote the lyrics of the song with Carla Lane (the re-knowned British TV writer.)

After the success of Showboy’s premiere at The Los Angeles Film Festival, the film has travelled the world showing at film festivals across America & Europe picking up Best Picture at The Milan Independent Film Festival and Best Directorial Debut at The British Independent Film Awards.

Lindy is based in London, where she grew up but enjoys the fact that her work takes her all over. She particularly enjoys the idea of being a transatlantic jetsetter, and is currently perfecting her mid-atlantic accent.
